Guess Who's On the Naughty List??

Wyatt's Christmas vacation started three days earlier than the rest of the kids at Roger's after he was sent home. Why would the angel in this mug shot get suspended? Well he made the mistake of picking a barret off the floor and throwing it at the front of the classroom. Scandalous! I guess he forgot Santa is always watching!

Arrowbear

Wyatt loved life at Arrowbear, nights were cool and days were fair (all 10 of them!), not a worry, not a care, just music, Music, MUSIC!

His couselor was Ray, a Lowell and Rogers alum:

He shared a cabin with Adam, Charly, and Mikey:

The scenery was beautiful and so was the music!

He made lots of friends at music camp:

I think he had as much fun as did when I was his age and went to Arrowbear!

Panama Was Alive with the Sound of Music

One of my favorite things about life on Panama was listening to Wyatt play the piano while I did household tasks like make dinner and wash dishes. Chores were enjoyable when accompanied by beautiful music. We got this piano for Wyatt on his 8th birthday and he has been playing beautiful music on it ever since. Wyatt would often be distracted by the piano when getting ready for school in the morning and start playing songs instead of brushing his teeth, etc. but I could never get mad at him for being distracted when the result was listening to him play the piano. I'm really going to miss the piano room and my handsome blonde boy tickling the ivories! I had to choke back the tears today when someone came and bought Wyatt's piano. I sure am going to miss 381 Panama and my little boys sitting at the piano playing beautiful music.

StudIronman 2011

Wyatt was ready early Tuesday morning for his 4th running of a Long Beach tradition - the 4 mile run and 2 mile swim StudIronman. He had special permission from his waterpolo coach to run the race since his final game for JOs was that afternoon. Wyatt is a stud and isn't going to use a Junior Olympic game as an excuse to get out of an endurance race!

He rocked the race and ran a fast pace the entire time and finished with a time of 1 hour 30 minutes! What a stud! I'm so proud of my little stud ironman! I see triathlons in his future.

Junior Guard Regionals

The Junior Lifeguard Regional Competition was held in Seal Beach this year. Wyatt's first event was the rescue relay, where Nick rescued Wyatt from the depths of the ocean in true lifeguard style: Wyatt's next event was the run-swim-run. The Long Beach JG run-swim-run team:

Swimming:

And running again! That boy is pure muscle!

Some Long Beach JGs enjoying regionals:

And Shelby having some fun at the beach! This is the first time I've taken her to the beach all summer. How sad is that!

Going to JOs

The crazy polo boys spent the weekend in Santa Barbara dominating in the pool and qualifying for Junior Olympics! It was two days of waterpolo at an outside pool in non-stop rain - FUN! But the Shore Boys are excited for Junior Olympics this summer! Go Shore!

San DIego County Cup

Shelby, Wyatt and I headed down to San Diego at the end of Spring Break for a polo tournament. We watched the Shore boys and my favorite girl Maggie tear it up in the pool for a few days.

Shelby had fun swimming in the hotel pool and hanging out with the other little sisters: The polos also had fun hanging out at the hotel and eating fine cusine like Five Guys Burgers and Fries: It was Coach Joe's last time coaching the 12&under boys so they gave him a fond farewell after the last game!

King of Hearts

Guess who was crowned the King of Hearts at the annual cotillion waltz competition?Of course it was Wyatt who is not only a smooth dancer, but smart enough to pick the best girl dancer in the class as his partner. Monday night was also parent night so I got to share a waltz and a foxtrot with my favorite ballroom dancer. His dancing skills are much superior to mine and he leads quite well!
While I am bragging about Wyatt - he got another one of these:

Not only is he a straight-A student, but he is also the top student in his math class
and his PE class:

Love you Wyatt!

Polo at the Base

The Shores tore up Trojans at a scrimmage at the Los Al Base on a warm sunny day. You've got to love January in California!

Long Beach Tri 2010

Wyatt smiled his way thru his first triathlon - the 2010 Long Beach Tri. He was all smiles when he came out of the 1/2 mile swim. I was worried he'd have hypothermia - but he just had smiles! As he ran up the sand past the announcer's booth the MC announced, "here comes one of our youngest competitors" and Wyatt smiled and waved to the crowd. On the bike it was more smiles - all 11 miles! Everyone I saw at the race kept telling me, "I saw Wyatt on the bike - he had a huge smile on his face!"
And for the 3 mile run Wyatt smiled and talked! Kevin started running with him, but left because Wyatt would not stop talking. Then the Dad of one of Wyatt's friends caught up to him and he also said Wyatt would not stop talking. The race seemed too easy for Wyatt Wyatt was all smiles at the finish as he raced this guy down the chute!
And he was still smiling after the race! Wyatt had a great race. At 11 he was the youngest in the race and he beat lots of kids older than him and tons of adults. So proud of smiley Wyatt! Even though this post has been all about Wyatt - you know Kevin was there and rocked the Long Beach Tri! He raced Elite and took 5th place overall!

And in case you were wondering, the sun no longer shines in Long Beach. It has been June gloom for the last four months!
