OCSC Division Finals and Championships

Shore swim boys!
Wyatt racing!

Shore swim girls!

Shore won some bling!

Shelby's best friend - the red playground ball - is always a great way to pass the time at sporting events. You can always find a wall and a friend to play with.

StudIronman 2011

Wyatt was ready early Tuesday morning for his 4th running of a Long Beach tradition - the 4 mile run and 2 mile swim StudIronman. He had special permission from his waterpolo coach to run the race since his final game for JOs was that afternoon. Wyatt is a stud and isn't going to use a Junior Olympic game as an excuse to get out of an endurance race!

He rocked the race and ran a fast pace the entire time and finished with a time of 1 hour 30 minutes! What a stud! I'm so proud of my little stud ironman! I see triathlons in his future.

Junior Guard Regionals

The Junior Lifeguard Regional Competition was held in Seal Beach this year. Wyatt's first event was the rescue relay, where Nick rescued Wyatt from the depths of the ocean in true lifeguard style: Wyatt's next event was the run-swim-run. The Long Beach JG run-swim-run team:

KAP 7 Tournament

February brought some beautiful days for the Shore crowd to play polo!

Beach Waterpolo

The sunny was shining for waterpolo down at the bay but the water was not just cold - it was FRIGID! The polo kids still had fun and Shelby spent the day paddleboarding with her swim buddies. At one point Shelby conviced me to swim over to the boats and the water was so cold I could barely breathe!

Junior Guard Nationals

On August 5th the Junior Lifeguard National Competition was held in Huntington Beach. Since Wyatt had qualified for the Long Beach team and competed in the Regional Competition in San Diego he was able to compete at Nationals. He competed in three events ...

The long distance run:Beach Flags:And the rescue relay, where Wyatt was the victim and his strong German friend Hannes was the rescuer: Wyatt did not win any medals, but he had a great time competing with the Long Beach Junior Guards!

JG Parents Day

I spent my first day as a junior guard and it was so much fun! I ran, I swam a bracket (otherwise known as three buoys), I jumped off the pier and I got a ride in the lifeguard boat. There was no one there to capture my JG experience in pictures - but I was the first parent to jump off the pier and I rocked the runs. The swims I was lucky to finish! The best part of the day was hanging with Wyatt. He was so nice to me and always kept me with him and his buddies. I really appreciated Wyatt keeping me included in everything. I sure love my boy!
Junior Guards is a ton of fun and I totally missed out not doing it when I was younger. I can't wait for my next parents day when Shelby is in JGs!

Riding Waves in the LBC

The breakwater doesn't stop the JGs from enjoying the waves in Long Beach. As always Wyatt is having a great time in Junior Guards! I can't believe it is almost over and the StudIronman is next week!
(there is not much of a chance for childhood obesity when you spend 4+ hours a day running and swimming with JGs and Shore Aquatics!)

God Bless America!

Celebrating freedom and the land that we love on Panama Avenue. There was food and fun with the ones that we love:
The all-American favorite water-balloon toss:
And a huge waterslide:
God Bless America - my home sweet home!

Shore

I'm really going to miss waterpolo at Long Beach State when Shore gets kicked out of the pool at the end of the month. Even though I grew up in Long Beach I have never spent much time at Long Beach State until the last 3 1/2 years when the kids have been swimming and playing polo with Shore. The Long Beach State pool has become a second home and I know we are all going to miss it.
Shore might have lost its pool, but it still has the best coaches around and I look forward to many more years of swimming and waterpolo with Shore.

Deja Vu

It has been a while, but we are back in the business of toilet paper removal. I figured it was coming back in vogue for Wyatt's crew, so I made him clean it up. Wyatt used his "networking" skills on Facebook to find out it was actually girls Kelly's age who did the deed this time.
