Ironman Irony

So yesterday I did a post regarding a man who was training for the Arizona Ironman and got hit while cycling on Monday, his shoulder is separated so now he will not be able to race. After spending 25 hours a week training for months that is a major bummer.

How ironic, because last night while at a stop sign waiting to turn on to PCH from the Ralphs shopping center Kevin and his car were hit by a drunk driver speeding down PCH.

Kevin's car looks very similar to this:

The other car was a full size truck that Kevin said just drove straight towards him at a high speed. He said the last thought that flashed through his mind was my blog entry and how he also may not be racing in 22 days. Kevin was hit so hard that his car was lifted in the air and did a 180 degree turn onto the grass.
The other driver was taken away in one of these:
We took Kevin to this place:

Where some nice doctors gave him some X-rays and said no bones were broken.

So hopefully we will heal soon and be able to race! Thank heavens he is alive and still has all his body parts!

Sounds like Kevin had some "help" in the accident. Good thing. Sorry to hear about it. Even though his bones are ok, he must be really shaken up! We'll be praying for him!
